Article by Paul Binsfeld, President of Company Nurse, LLC and Enspiri Solutions, LLS
As the first-to-market SaaS solution for workers’ compensation nurse triage management, Enspiri Solutions has developed turnkey software that provides maximum efficiency
Each year, there are more than five million workplace injuries that occur in the United States. Nurse triage services are emerging as one of the most important cost-containment services in the workers' compensation industry. Employers of all sizes are asking their insurance agents, carriers and third party administrators to provide this service - not only to reduce costs, but also to provide better service to the injured worker, and to improve the overall claim-handling process.
Nurse triage at the time of injury is a young and rapidly growing industry that helps injured employees get the care they need, while saving employers time and resources. Work injury nurse triage is proven to:
· Reduce reporting lag times
· Minimize Emergency Room usage
· Lower total litigated claims, and
· Provide high-quality engagement with employees at the time of injury
My experience at Company Nurse has been that employers can reduce their total claims costs by 10-20 percent through utilizing nurse triage services. So, why aren’t all employers using triage when they have a workplace injury? With more options, now they can.
I partnered with Steve Schmutz, founder and CEO of Claimwire LLC, and MountainView Software Corporation, to develop a new platform that is the first of its kind in the workers' compensation nurse triage sector, called Enspiri Solutions. The system has been beta tested, and we are now formally announcing its launch.
The software was created to bring high quality triage software and services to employers throughout the United States – whether an organization is new to triage and is seeking a turnkey solution, or larger firms already providing triage services. What differentiates Enspiri from any triage software is that our services provide:
· Access to a nationwide database with over 12,000 verified medical facilities
· Medical algorithms developed exclusively for workers’ compensation nurse triage that have been refined over 19 years to meet the exact needs of the triage industry
· Reporting suite that is unparalleled – offering automated delivery of injury reports, state forms, and data files based on a powerful rules engine
· Outsourced nurse services to assist our customers with the after-hours and weekend nurse requirements
Far more than a typical software company – we provide the full solution. Enspiri’s roots run deep in the workers’ compensation industry, combining the knowledge and experience of Company Nurse, the industry leading nurse triage provider, and Claimwire, an industry leader in workers’ compensation software.
Steve Schmutz and I have worked together for nearly 20 years on various software systems designed for nurse triage services. Joining forces, we see the opportunity to fill a growing niche in workers’ compensation triage management to help insurance carriers, self-insured groups, third party administrators, personal healthcare nurse triage call centers entering the workers’ compensation market, and managed care customers, reduce costs and increase their bottom-line.
As the first-to-market solution for workers’ compensation nurse triage management, we have developed a SaaS solution that provides maximum efficiency, and saves substantial time and money, which will immediately increase a company’s bottom-line. We are excited to share Enspiri Solutions with the workers’ compensation marketplace.
Paul Binsfeld is the founder and president of Company Nurse, LLC, a firm that specializes in medical triage and injury management for workers’ compensation. His career began as a workers’ compensation consultant with mid-size employers helping to streamline claims processes and improve outcomes for injured workers. By working with many different types of employers, he identified a common need for early intervention in the workers’ compensation claims and injury management process, and thus, Company Nurse was born in 1997. Binsfeld – one of the pioneers of the pre-claim nurse triage industry – was recently appointed to the Entrepreneurial Insurance Alliance Advisory Board of Directors. He has over 25 years of experience in workers’ compensation and is one of the most influential leaders in the market.
